With the call for trees and woodlands to play a greater role in daily life there’s much to consider: public opinion, environmental responsibility, tree safety and litigation and that’s before you get to the heart of forestry and arboriculture – the job of selecting, planting and managing trees.

The IEA Bioenergy International Workshop comes to the UK, and has a full session of expert presentations and site visits. BBC Radio 4  will be airing a piece about the Norhtumberland Fire Group on their "Open Country" program. The piece will investigate the reasons behind the formation of the  wildfire group by looking at the wildfire situation in Northumberland. The success of the group’s activitis will be explored as well as the potential future of the Northumberland Fire Group. The program will also take a look at the effects of wildfire in relation to the natural environment and climate change.

We’re starting something big this March. Ignition09 is the UK’s first dedicated wood fuel expo, providing a Europe-wide showcase for this exciting and rapidly growing sector.
