    The Woodland Intiatives Network is a partnership based organisation that supports the work of the woodland initiatives.

    RDI has membership of the steering group and represents the interests of the Yorwoods and Northwoods partnerships. The group meets three times a year.

  • Future Energy Yorkshire Biomass CPD course

    Future Energy Yorkshire has developed a CPD Course in Biomass.  The aim of the course is to provide a comprehensive overview of the biomass energy sector.

    The first five day course ran from the 19th May 2008 and due to this being a huge success and the course being over subscribed they are now running the course again from October 13th-17th 2008.

  • Ignite Woodfuel Training – Durham

    Ignite was developed in the North East of England in 2004 and since then has grown into the UK’s only integrated woodfuel training course leading to a recognised qualification from Lantra Awards.  Over 500 people have benefitted from the Ignite course which is delivered by a team of experienced and enthusiastic trainers

  • IEA Bioenergy International Workshop

    The IEA Bioenergy International Workshop comes to the UK, and has a full session of expert presentations and site visits. David Clubb, Director of Northwoods, will be giving a presentation on the experience of the north east in the wood fuel supply chain. His presentation takes place on Wednesday 17th September at 1330h.

  • Radio 4 – Open Country ‘Northumberland Fire Group’

    BBC Radio 4  will be airing a piece about the Norhtumberland Fire Group on their "Open Country" program. The piece will investigate the reasons behind the formation of the  wildfire group by looking at the wildfire situation in Northumberland. The success of the group’s activitis will be explored as well as the potential future of the Northumberland Fire Group. The program will also take a look at the effects of wildfire in relation to the natural environment and climate change.

    We’re starting something big this March. Ignition09 is the UK’s first dedicated wood fuel expo, providing a Europe-wide showcase for this exciting and rapidly growing sector.

  • Wildfire 2009

    Wildfire, the UK’s largest wildfire event, will be held for the fourth time on the 16th & 17th June 2009 in the New Forest.
