    David Clubb will be giving a talk about the NEWFuels woodfuel producer group at the Cumbrian Woodland Forum, which takes place at the United Utilities Northern Offices, Thirlmere, on Tuesday 3rd June 2008. He will also be discussing the differences in market approach between the biomass sector, and other renewable energy types.     This practical one day course will cover the introduction of candidates to mobile sawing techniques and the pros and cons of different methods of conversion.  It will ensure all candidates are conversant with Health & Safety procedures. It provides an insight into the timber value stream for UK woodlands and provide the candidates with a strong foundation in the skill of mobile bandsaw operation in a commercial environment.

  • Pest and Pest Control

    The aim of the course is for Woodland owners and managers to recognise the presence of mammals and signs of damage.  To evaluate the severity of the problem, consider appropriate protection measures and to integrate woodland planning and design to manage damage levels.

    Ignite was developed in the North East of England in 2004 and since then has grown into the UK’s only integrated woodfuel training course leading to a recognised qualification from Lantra Awards. Over 500 people have benefitted from the Ignite course, which is delivered by a team of experienced and enthusiastic trainers.
