Event Details

Cumbria Woodlands have commissioned Rural Development Initiatives to organise a series of Forestry Demonstrations.  This is the fifth and last demonstration and is to be held at the Lowther Estates near Penrith.

Hosted in conjunction with Caledonian Forestry Services this will be a demonstration of a Vimek harvester and forwarders.  CFS are targeting estate forestry with these machines, recognising there is a need to manage small woodlands in a sustainable and low-impact manner.  The Vimek machinery is low ground pressure, manoeuvrable and has economic fuel consumption.  The machines are also easy to haul; a forwarder and a harvester will fit onto one low loader.
