Northwoods is the Woodland Initiative for the North East of England
Successful woodland requires successful management. Bringing woodland into management provides a range of benefits in relation to economic viability, environmental sustainability and improved social outcomes.
Managed woodland are also likely to be more resilient to increased threats from tree pests and diseases and changing climate.
Producing a woodland management plan can provide a basis for demonstrating sustainable management and supports implementation and monitoring.
Having a management plan in place is a pre-requisite to accessing grants under the current round of RDPE funding.
