Based on demand identified within wildfire groups, RDI have developed two wildfire training courses designed to meet the needs of the land based sector. Both courses are based on internationally approved wildfire training courses and adapted to suit the needs of the UK.
The Basic Wildfire Fighting course is aimed at land managers and anyone that may be asked to assist on a fire ground. The course covers an introduction to wildfire behaviour and suppression, health and safety and working with the fire service command and control systems. Trainees receive a Lantra Awards certificate of attendance.
The Advanced Wildfire Fighting course builds on the knowledge gained in the basic course. It introduces advanced concepts of fire behaviour and wildfire suppression techniques. The course is designed to provide more experienced trainees with the skills to manage a team of fire fighters and manage a wildfire incident.
