Wildfire is the UK and Ireland's bi-ennial wildfire conference and has been held every other year since 2003, most recently taking place in Buxton in September 2011. Wildfire represents an unrivalled opportunity for all those involved in the prevention of, and response to, wildfires to come together to share best practice, hear from researchers working on the subject and meet providers of wildfire related equipment and services.
Papers and posters from Wildfire 2011 are available by downloading them from the list below. The authors have kindly given permission for them to be made publically available on condition they are for personal use only, are not altered in any way or the information contained in them used out of context. Where papers are referred to they should be cited as appropriate. Copyright remains with the author(s) at all times.
We will shortly start planning for the next Wildfire conference, due to take place in September 2013. If you would like to suggest a location, discuss opportunities for sponsorship or partnering, or submit a paper, please contact us on enquiries@ruraldevelopment.org.uk.
Wildfire is organised and hosted by Rural Development Initiatives. Our experienced and knowledgeable staff present on RDI wildfire based projects and act as workshop facilitators to stimulate discussion around topics presented at the conference.
Delegate feedback from previous conferences includes the following:
“excellent use of speakers"
"workshops were excellent"
"an excellent event that highlights the wealth of experience available"
"really worth 2 days out of the office, learned loads and networking was invaluable"
