Stirling and Tayside Timber Transport Group

RDI were chosen from a wide field to fill the important role of Programme Facilitator for the Stirling and Tayside Timber Transport Group (S&TTTG). The contract spans 18 months and is funded by the Strategic Timber Transport Scheme, Forestry Commission Scotland and Angus, Perth and Kinross and Stirling Councils.

The aim of the S&TTTG is to minimise the impact of timber transport on the people who live and work in communities close to the forests.

The main outcomes from the Project are minimising the environmental and community impacts arising from the movement of harvested timber across the region, optimum utilisation of non-road timber transport solutions and an increased awareness of the role of the S&TTTG in resolving potential timber transport problems.
