Northwoods project director speaking at off-grid renewables event - Sunday 28th, Rothbury

RDI Shortlisted for the British Renewable Energy Awards!
At an awards ceremony at London’s Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel on 11th June, RDI were amongst the short listed nominees for the British Renewable Energy Awards. RDI were nominated in the ‘Pioneer’ category (sponsored by British Sugar) for their work in promoting woodfuel and supporting the supply chain through projects such as Ignite, NewHeat, Ignition09 and bioeNErgy.

Woodfuel Suppliers Survey
RDI Associates Ltd, working in association with Hudson Consulting Ltd, has been commissioned by Forestry Commission to undertake a woodfuel suppliers’ network scoping study.
With support from the Forestry Commission’s Regional Biomass Advice Network, the study will work with woodfuel suppliers across England, Wales and Scotland to identify the benefits and services they feel would be most useful to their business.

Wildfire 2009 - the UK's Wildfire Conference
On the 16th and 17th June, RDI will be organising the fourth UK wildfire conference in Lyndhurst in the New Forest.
After a couple of wet years it wouldn’t be unexpected if wildfire has slipped down the list of priorities. But with climate change predicted to extend the long term trend towards hotter and drier summers, and the anticipated increase in fires that this would result in, wildfire experts in the UK are concerned that many areas could find themselves unprepared, with potentially catastrophic consequences.

Angus Woodland and Forestry Framework
RDI has won a twelve month contract from Angus Council to produce their Local Woodland and Forestry Framework. With support from Forestry Commission Scotland, the Framework, which will be applicable to all of Angus, excluding that part of Angus which lies within the boundary of the Cairngorms National Park, will follow the principles of the Scottish Forestry Strategy and identify projects which will help to deliver community and sustainable economic development, biodiversity and climate change objectives.
