RDI Director Appointed to Key Forestry Advisory Body

RDI is delighted to announce that Claire Glaister, RDI’s Director with responsibility for Scotland, has been appointed to Forestry Commission Scotland’s Grampian Forestry Forum.

Along with four other Forestry fora across Scotland, the Grampian Forestry Forum was established to provide advice on forestry policy and practice within its geographic area, with its members representing the economic, environmental and social aspects of forestry.

Meeting three times a year, each regional forum establishes its own priorities and sets up smaller working groups to take forward specific issues.  A key role of the Grampian Forestry Forum is to advise Forestry Commission Scotland on the regional implementation of Scottish Forestry Strategy and to provide a regional perspective on the Strategy’s future development.

As well as her main membership role on the Forum, Claire is also the Grampian Forestry Forum representative on the Scottish Rural Development Programme Woodlands In and Around Towns (WIAT) and Forestry for People Challenge Funds Judging panel.
