The first introductory event for the LandSkills training programme in the Yorkshire and the Humber took place last week in Thirsk. Will Richardson and Carrick Armer officially launched Yorwoods delivery of the project, which provides up to 70% funding for training courses for the forestry and woodland sector. In a short presentation, Carrick outlined the application process, the courses available, and the benefits of a wider repertoire of skills in the current economic climate.
Funded by Yorkshire Forward through Lantra, LandSkills works to increase the skills base of farmers, farm-foresters, landowners and forestry businesses to enable them to better manage their woodlands, to diversify their economic base and to improve their business.
