Angus Woodland and Forestry Framework

RDI has won a twelve month contract from Angus Council to produce their Local Woodland and Forestry Framework. With support from Forestry Commission Scotland, the Framework, which will be applicable to all of Angus, excluding that part of Angus which lies within the boundary of the Cairngorms National Park, will follow the principles of the Scottish Forestry Strategy and identify projects which will help to deliver community and sustainable economic development, biodiversity and climate change objectives.

The project will involve a high level of stakeholder consultation to ascertain local residents and industry views and then incorporate these into suggestions for the future management of woodland and forestry within Angus. RDI’s excellent track record in event management and facilitation, together with those of the other key members of the project team, Simon Armstrong and Peter O’Hara, will ensure that these meetings are fully inclusive and encourage effective debate.

Once completed, the approved Framework will be shared amongst community planning partners and a public leaflet published to raise awareness of the document amongst the residents of Angus.
