LandSkills: East Midlands

The Lantra LandSkills project aims to increase the skills base of the Trees and Timber section in the East Midlands area. This includes forestry contractors, woodfuel suppliers, woodland owners and anyone who is involved in woodland products or woodland management.

Through the programme we can provide grant aid of up to 70% of the cost of any relevant training activity, from surgeries and discussion groups through classroom based knowledge transfer to technical and machinery training. This funding is open to anyone who is part of a business, organisation or social enterprise which is dependant on forestry or utilises any woodland product. Eligibility criteria do apply, which will be assessed on an individual basis during any application.

Courses which can be provided include:
- Ignite: Woodfuels - New Markets, New Opportunities - Grants & Licenses surgeries -
- Basic Tree Survey and Inspection - Arboriculture & Bats - Appointed Persons First Aid -
- NPTC Chainsaw modules - Charcoal kilning - Managing Woodlands for Wildlife -
- Managing Woodlands for Wood Fuel - Forestry Machine Operations - Wood Chipper training -
